Young Gifted Liars
a five-piece band with a difference
Venue guide
To help prospective venues we have listed some of our requirements
here...
- Generally we will require a stage space of at least 5m by 3m. However, if your stage is smaller than this we can always carry out a site survey and let you know
- A buffer space between the band and the audience of at least 1m. This is primarily for the benefit of those in the audience (by the way, we have Public Liability Insurance)
- A safe and certified electricity supply, ideally providing a minimum of four 13 amp sockets (all our equipment is PAT tested)
- A secure changing room with toilet facilities
- We will need full access to the venue and stage area at least two hours before we are expected to play or before the start of the event if that is earlier (this is technically called "Load In" time)
- We will need unhindered access to pack away shortly after the gig - this takes about one hour (you guessed it - "Load Out" time)
- In respect of Load In and Load Out, we would benefit from preferential parking if at all possible. Some of our gear is very heavy, bulky and awkward to carry, so the nearer we can get our vehicles to the stage or playing area entrance the better
- We have some lighting! Well, you will want to see us as well as hear us! So, you should take this into account when considering space requirements. The lighting needs a separate power supply
- You will understand that we are often "bound" to the vicinity of the gig once we have set up, so sustenance can be an issue. If you are able to provide some sandwiches and soft drinks that would go down a treat
