A few words from some of Harry's acquaintances...

"Harry is an inspiration to anyone who ever wished to further themselves in anything, in my case music. He never stops pushing, looking, trying to find that progression of chords to compliment his ability to solo above the rhythm section..."
Clive Darrington, Musician and Lyricist, Leeds

"Harry has fitted into Blind Lemon seamlessly. We've overloaded him with new songs to learn and he's coped effortlessly and professionally with whatever we've thrown at him and within very tight deadlines. I'm delighted to have found someone else who shares the passion and dedication for playing and performing live music as much as I do. I look forward to a long and productive future"
Nick McCarthy, Guitarist with Blind Lemon, Worcester

"He has a remarkable ear"
David Makinson, Author, Bolton

"It was like you've always been there"
Mark Pearsall, Singer with Blind Lemon, Kidderminster

"Harry is a very accomplished musician"
Steve Collett, Vocalist with The Midnight Movers, Worcester

Blind Lemon

Harry joins Blind Lemon.

In one of those serendipitous moments that come along once in a while, the Kidderminster based band Blind Lemon found themselves in need of a keyboard player. They heard about Harry and asked him to audition. Against stiff competition Harry was offered the position and joined the band at the start of April 2010. With just three rehearsals under his belt Harry was thrown in at the deep end with his first Blind Lemon gig on Saturday 8 May 2010 at Keystones, Worcester.

Ben Waters

Harry jams with one of the world's best Boogie Woogie pianists, Ben Waters.

A visit to the Nantwich Jazz, Blues and Music Festival brought Harry together with one of the world's most accomplished Boogie Woogie pianists, Ben Waters. Ben was appearing at the Crown Hotel, Nantwich on Saturday 3 April 2010 as part of the festival. Harry was in the audience and at the interval he took the opportunity to chat with Ben about his music and his technique (mainly "left hand patterns"). Ben offered to chat further with Harry at the end of the night. Ben kept his word and soon Harry and Ben were dueling on the piano in front of most of the audience who were still milling around. It wasn't long before the room filled with applause as the two finished their little "mess around". "It was an absolute pleasure to meet someone of Ben's caliber, to see how he played and to pick up a few tips" said Harry afterwards.

Moving On

Posted 31 March 2010

After more than four years with The Midnight Movers, Harry has decided to move on.

In March 2006 Harry auditioned for the position of keyboard player in the Soul band The Midnight Movers. He got the role! After a number of intense rehearsals he played his first gig with them at The Broadway Inn, Stourbridge in June 2006. Harry became an important element of the band, looking after the band's web site, acting as treasurer and eventually taking on the role of Musical Director. Now, after more than four years and nearly sixty gigs, he's decided it's time for a change. Harry's last gig with The Midnight Movers was at the Acorn's Hospice Charity Event on Monday 31 May 2010. "I wish The Midnight Movers all the very best for the future. I will continue to watch their progress with interest and remain good friends."
